Darlene H. Morris This series of mixed media paintings was developed slowly with multiple layers of transparent acrylics, gesso, image transfers, collage, and watercolor crayon. Each step was intuitive and fluid, each layer building upon the one below. They glow with an inner light that transports the viewer into another dimension. Darlene believes art should be an uplifting experience for the beholder as well as the artist. She strives to see grace, beauty, and soul expressed in each work to bring a sense of peace and harmony into each painting. |

Patricia Hagerman In the series “Between Earth and Sky” various subjects are placed in the center to frame the discussion. Many seemingly ordinary situations, when singled out for contemplation, take on new meanings. Each piece is a triptych. Each title, for example, War, Greed, Shelter, suggests the beginning of the discussion. My art is meant to be interactive. The viewer is invited to provide the responding dialogue.

Jeffrey Frisch This series is 180 degrees off from all my other artwork. It is made from plastic glitter and plastic related materials. The colors are vaguely pointillist, unnatural and intense. The work sparkles under lighting. It is very light in weight, very shallow in depth, fragile and of little physical substance. The vaguely realistic, cartoonish look of the work derives from and refers to animated motion picture imagery. This series is titled HOLLYWOOD. Each piece in the series is named with an existing motion picture title. It is the result of an on-going search for a less traditional materials palette. |

Dream Vessel #21 |
Jeffrey Frisch dreamVessels© are created intuitively referring to one’s soul journey of dreams since both dreamVessels© and dreams are assembled from seemingly unrelated elements creating a believably rearranged sense of reality. I create them from the wide variety of used and discarded materials collected from everywhere I go. The construction is relatively primitive and simplified assembly methods of wrapped wire and string, glue, small nails and screws. No welding or brazing is used. Calling on the viewer’s hidden recesses of human spirit, dreamVessels© are delicate, detailed found object, bilaterally symmetrical works, highly evocative of fantasy sailing vessels from an ancient technology in a parallel universe. The series’ imagery draws heavily from traditional marine aesthetic, vocabulary and architecture. |
