Esther's Art

Artist’s Statement

Life, in general, inspires me to paint and living half the time in the desert and the other half near the ocean has transformed my work into an exploration of metaphors of my two worlds. The influence of the ocean and the desert is seen in many of these works in both color and form.

My painting starts and develops by way of inspiration and experimentation, letting my materials and instinct guide me. The work swings from abstract to realism with one always interpenetrating the other. Sometimes the message is too important to abstract and other times I am completely involved with the working surface. Biography and Awards PDF document.
